The Large PDF Dilemma
Whether you are uploading a multi-page resume, a scanned copy of your Marksheets, or your Caste Certificate, most online portals have a strict limit on PDF file sizes—typically around 1MB to 2MB. If you scan these documents using your phone or a scanner at high resolution, the resulting PDF can easily exceed 10MB.
The Danger of Standard Compressors
If you search Google for "Compress PDF", you will find hundreds of tools. However, almost all of them work by sending your highly sensitive personal documents to their cloud servers. This is a massive privacy risk for files containing your Aadhar, PAN, or financial details.
Client-Side Compression is the Future
EditoDoc's PDF Compression tool works entirely differently. We use WebAssembly technology to compress your PDF inside your browser. Your files never leave your computer, ensuring 100% privacy.
How we compress without losing quality:
Instead of just blurring everything, our tool allows you to specify a target size. It then strategically reduces the DPI of embedded images and strips out unnecessary metadata while keeping the actual text as crisp vector graphics. This means a 15MB scanned document can easily be shrunk to 800KB while remaining perfectly readable to the exam authorities.
