Navigating SSC Upload Requirements
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts some of the most competitive exams in India. Their application portal is notorious for strictly rejecting images that do not comply with their exact pixel and byte-size requirements.
The "Date Printed" Rule
Unlike many other exams, the SSC frequently requires that the photograph uploaded has the date of taking the photograph printed clearly at the bottom. The photograph should not be more than three months old from the date of publication of the Notice of Examination.
Photo Requirements
- Size: 20 KB to 50 KB.
- Format: JPEG/JPG.
- Dimensions: 3.5 cm (width) x 4.5 cm (height).
- Specs: Without spectacles and cap. Both ears must be visible.
Signature Requirements
- Size: 10 KB to 20 KB.
- Format: JPEG/JPG.
- Dimensions: 4.0 cm (width) x 2.0 cm (height).
- Specs: Sign in black or blue ink on white paper.
The Easy Way to Format SSC Images
Getting a photo under 50 KB while maintaining good resolution, and also adding a date stamp at the bottom, is a massive headache in MS Paint or Photoshop.
EditoDoc offers two tools for this: First, use our Name & Date Stamper to instantly add a professional date placard to the bottom of your photo. Then, use our Image Compressor to bring the file size down strictly between 20 KB and 50 KB without losing clarity.
